Bank Holiday – Day 134

The sun shone and I had a proper day off. OMG, I didn’t realise how tiring relaxation can be. After an afternoon at a garden party where I was catered for, looked after and didn’t answer a single e-mail, I was absolutely shattered.

It doesn’t bode well for retirement. Without a string of daily tasks to perform, I’ll be snoring my way through the days in a high-backed chair before you can say Steradent.

It’s back to the grindstone today and frankly, I’m finding it hard to get back into the swing of things.

It’s a fasting day and my stomach is rumbling. Not because I am hungry, but because I ate like Henry VIII at a wedding buffet yesterday. I need to be more mindful of what I eat. A couple of years back I gave up sugar and felt great. Slowly, old habits have crept in and I have ditched the raw sugar free chocolate for proper dirty bars of Cadbury’s and Nestle. I think I need to get back up close and personal with Xylitol and chia seeds.

I also vowed to start meditating again yesterday and still I haven’t. And I haven’t done the chicken man’s exercises or even paid the Feng Shui money frog much attention. So many haven’ts!

Time to get back on the programme!

Personal manifesto

I’m a clean eating, mindful, money-making machine.

  1. I too have always had trouble remembering to do a daily meditation. Recently I learned that the way to instill a habit is to attach it to something I already do every day. So on the glass where I keep my toothbrush, I put a stickynote to remind me to go sit down for 5 minutes and check in with my inner self. So far it’s working!
