Shrill – Day 337

My throat hurts today, which is probably due to the fact that I did a lot of shouting yesterday. We played a game that most families probably get through quietly, but it sounded like a mass protest in our house.

And my back and shoulders hurt. This could be due to the fact that I spent a lot of time serving up food to hungry visitors. I ate a lot myself, but didn’t take one mindful mouthful as I was too busy emptying the dishwasher and dishing up meals.

A hot scented bath awaits. I can’t wait to sink into it. We are taking Dad to the theatre today. I am so relieved that we have got this far and that he isn’t in hospital, or in pain. He looks worn out, but that is to be expected. I’m not sure yesterday’s shouting games did him much good, even though he was tucked away in a quieter room.

We had my nieces over for a sleepover last night. They were high on sugar when I went to bed and sound as if they still are. I’ve just warned my husband that he is cooking them breakfast as I’m going out. He’s not best pleased. He was up late unblocking a toilet. Living the dream.

Personal manifesto

All is perfect.
